The C1/D visa, also known as the Crew Member/Transit visa, is a non-immigrant visa issued by the United States to crew members in the cruise industry. It is meant for crew joining a ship that travels in US waters yet in some cases crew members just need to fly through the US in order to join a port in another country. Canadian citizens are an exception and only require a passport to work on cruise ships.
